Pool Fences – Know the Basics
Swimming pools are the most entertaining part of a home, that is, if you have one. The rising middle class and the steady high class elites brought upon the sudden emergence of numerous pools in backyard suburbs and villages. When there is a pool, what evidently follows is the construction of pool fences.
The numerous raw materials, the never-ending stylish gag, the feeling of bragging, all of these contribute to the choosing mind of the consumers and home owners. Because of these reasons, pool owners are having a hard time on what type of fence they want to install into their surrounding pool area. Varieties of concerns like privacy, modernity, elegance and personal taste are usually the triggers of consumers to choose on what they want. Here are some things to consider in choosing:
- First, you must understand that a fence is built primarily to keep something in or out of the pool area (in regards to this, keeping something out is more likely the reason). Toddlers and pets are one of the things that are usually kept out of the pool when there is no supervision. Pool fences are built to keep them from drowning or any pool-related incidents that can cause injury.
- Second, budget in creating a pool fence and what material to use for it is another factor that should be thought of. If you are somewhat just starting to climb up in the middle class level, then wood fences might actually just be enough for you at this time. When you have the proper budget in the future, you might replace it with brass railings or with frameless glass ones.
- Finally, with the assurance of safety, the style and elegance of the pool fence would also be considered. Everyone seems to have that sense of class and chic in their minds, and it can be applied to choosing a fence if the consumer wants to. Wrought iron railings, framed or frameless glass fences or even colorful picket fences will give a colorful and secure touch to pool fences.
There are a number of materials that a pool owner might consider in creating a pool fence. Here are some of them:
- Wood – highly used by starting pool owners, eco-friendly, can be painted in different colors. Disadvantage is its opaqueness and solidity that creates a claustrophobic-type of feeling around the pool.
- Steel, iron and brass – mostly used by upper class mansions, can be wrought and twisted according to desired shapes, classy look, maintained only thought anti-rust paints and polishers. The only problem with this is it might cause injury due to the railings’ sharp edges and huge gaps between the rods.
- Concrete and brick – strong and durable than all materials, doesn’t need much maintenance. This material is rarely used as a material for pool fences due to its bulkiness and other undesired features.
- Glass – highly used by almost all American and Australian homes due to its modern, stylish looks, transparent material making outside view unaffected, maintained easily by detergent cleaners. Privacy from the outside is the only ill-effect of this material.
With all of these factors given, consumers might give first a thought on how, why and what pool fences should be. Either way, they only correlate into one thing – safety.
